ABSTRACT

Among older patients hospitalized for heart failure, height-indexed appendicular skeletal muscle mass, but not BMI-indexed appendicular skeletal muscle mass, was associated with higher 2-year mortality. Height-indexed ASMM may therefore be the more clinically useful marker for post-discharge risk stratification.
